Product Description
The thoroughly updated Eighth Edition of the top-selling NCLEX-RN(R) review reflects the current NCLEX(R) test plan and contains more than 5,000 total test questions--including new alternate-format questions--to help students practice taking the exam. Organized by practice area--childbearing family and neonate, child health, adult medical-surgical, and psychiatric-mental health--the book contains more questions than any other NCLEX-RN(R) review, and includes more pharmacology-related questions. The author clearly explains the rationale for correct and incorrect answers. Five comprehensive tests resembling the format of the NCLEX-RN(R) are also included. A back-of-book CD-ROM includes more than 1,000 questions, plus a free sample of the PDA download for handheld devices. This edition is also available for PDAs.

Amazon.com Review
If you're a senior nursing student, you know that it's impossible to practice too much for the NCLEX. So you'll love the new Lippincott's Review, which gives you over 5,000 exam-style questions with answers and rationales in the book, plus another 1,000 on the companion CD-ROM. By the time you can answer them all correctly, the boards will be a snap. --Carolyn Lewis

Reviews

review
i was not impressed with the condition my book came in, book is in poor condition-pages written all over and cover all bent up. Overall it is a great book for studying with, lots of practice questions and explanations.

Best NCLEX prep book
I went thru a variety of prep books and courses when getting ready for the NCLEX, and this book is what I ended up using the most. It was helpful because it contains so many challenging questins that are organized by topic, and then there are also general tests in the back for when you want a variety. I passed my NCLEX on the first try in July 2008, and for the whole two weeks before the test this book is all I used to study.

the best book out there.
I am surprised at how this book could have gotten anything less than 5 stars. I have used and purchased a variety of NCLEX review books, both for school and for my own benefit. This is by far the best. The rationales are great - they thoroughly explain why each answer is what it is, except for a few here and there that are relatively obvious.

I also love that it has just the questions, and doesn't have explanation of material before hand. Listen, that's what I have textbooks for, and ATI review books, and dvds, and all that other nonsense they stuff down your throat in school. I just want NCLEX questions, and you get A LOT with this book. And the best part? It's broken down into specific categories! Like, peptic ulcer disease, glaucoma, Addison's Disease, etc. It's great for when you have a quiz or test on specific material. With other review books I had to hunt down and sift through chapters of material, which is time consuming and not to mention tedious.

Buy this book, because for $5-$6, it's an absolute steal. My professors in various classes have used questions right out of this book.

Well organized with good questions!
I really like this book, because it organizes the questions not only by subject, but also by disease. I wish I had purchased this book earlier in nursing school. A friend of mine let me borrow her book after I didn't pass the HESI (exit exam) for Nursing School. I must say that after using this book along with Saunders and Hogan, I finally passed HESI.

I'm hoping this book would help me pass the NCLEX, which I hope to take very soon!

Great Study Guide for NCLEX and school
I bought this book halfway through nursing school, and I wish I'd bought it sooner. This book is very helpful and broken down into adult med-surg, adult psych, pediatrics, and maternal nursing categories. Then it's broken down further into more specific topics, like certain conditions or disorders. This was great for me because I could review the questions for topics we covered and could skip the ones we didn't. It also comes with a CD with around 500 practice questions with review and test mode. The answers are given after the section instead of one big index at the back, which I also found convenient. The format is very organized and effective. I highly recommend this book.
