Does not provide all key information Would have liked to see tables and charts instead of condensed text reading. The pocket guide lists these themes, the health visit, developmental observation, PE, screening, immunizations and anticipatory guidance. When you review the health supervision visit for Screening you're directed to research the textbook. (See p 58.)For the Immunizations section, your given the websites to CDC and AAP. The only thing I like is the Appendices for dev milestones at a glance, recommended medical screening and sexual maturity rating. This is not what I paid for.
Great for all parents! This is a great little guide about the recommended health topics and screenings for children based on their age group. Although I'm a pediatric nurse and a nurse pracitioner student, I'd recommend this book for any parent with a little medical knowledge and the desire to learn more about what their child should receive at each pediatric well-child visit. It's very handy and easy to read. I'd recommend it for anyone providing care to children.
Bad format for clinical practice. I hoped this book had tables/charts for growth and development but it is simply text. Not helpful in a busy family practice.
Excellent pocket guide for Pediatrics This is a true pocket guide. Very handy for staying on top of the various screenings for each pediatric visit, as well as helpful reminders of tips for parents.
Great Resource Thr Bright futures pocket guide great for anyone treating pediatric patients or in nursing or medical school. I would highly recommend this book. I am in my last rotation as a family nurse practitioner and I use this book daily.
