Product Description
The second in a two-volume series based on over 40 years of music theory instruction at Berklee College of Music. This volume focuses on harmony, including triads, seventh chords, inversions, and voice leading for jazz, blues and popular music styles. You'll develop the tools needed to write melodies and create effective harmonic accompaniments from a lead sheet.

Reviews

Good book, could've been way better
This is a good book on basic harmony. The information is presented in a clear and concise manner with examples to supplement the text. There are also great excercises for the reader to do as a way of putting the material to work. However, there is no answer key in the book so one has to run the risk of knowing they did it all right. Despite the missing answer key I still feel I gained a lot of knowledge from this book and therefore I'm giving what could have been a 5 star book 3 stars.

Great theory book
Reviewing this book is saying most what it isn't but what it is. For those who are studying on Berkleeonline.com it's important for you to know that this book is not for the course Music Theory 201, but for the second part of Music Theory 101. It's a great book where you can find lots of examples and exercises, and a cd with all ear training exercises is included. What I don't like at all on this book is that there's no answer keys for the exercises, so you won't know if you did it ok or not.

Anyway, it's a good book to learn basics on Music Theory :)

Enjoy it!
