Great Book for the Price!! For the price, you couldn't ask for a better introduction to typography. This book looks and feel great! It is well designed-very clear and straightforward. It is well written, give numerous helpful examples and tips and guides you through the information using pictures. I've read a good amount of type books and this one stands out as being one of the most helpful books on the subject.

Classic must have An absolute must have for any beginning typography student or instructor. User friendly, it covers the fundamentals of typography comprehensively and with great clarity. I have used it as a text book, when I taught beginning typography and continue to recommend it for my Intermediate and Advanced type classes. No teacher or student of typography should be without this one. Truly a classic from a real pro.
Better Than My Text Book I bought this book for a class, but later found out the book was changed. I found this edition much more helpful than the later edition that I had to buy and use for class.
