Reviews

Excellent Reference-a must for your engineering library
This reference surprised me with its breadth ¯ it covers everything about pipelines. Here's a brief summary of useful topics covered in immense detail here:

* Welding pipelines;
* Pressure testing;
* Cleaning pipelines;
* Inspection of pipelines;
* Corrosion protection;
* Bedding and excavation, installation of pipelines; and,
* Rules of thumbs for gas, liquid hydraulics and sizing for movers (compressors, pumps), motors, control valves, leak detection, measurement, vapor loss from tanks and many other quick calculation methods.

The section on pressure testing is especially thorough. As with much of the "handbook" much too thorough for a handbook. The author describes various means of pressure testing, including pneumatic, a favorite of mine; don't believe all the nonsense about pneumatic being more dangerous than hydrostatic --- momentum balance. His description of cleaning is also very thorough. I bring up pressure testing because the methods here are directly applicable whether it is a pipe spool in a pipeline or a plant and they can also be used for vessels and equipment. By far, the pressure testing and cleaning sections are better than anything available from API, ANSI or anywhere else. Buy this book for these sections if nothing else.

This reference was written before the EPA introduced the Clean Air Act, long before changes like double-walled pipe came into being. Use another reference for information on environmental regulation involving pipelines.

With that said, this book contains a wide range of useful, in-depth information in addition to very handy rules of thumb. You should have this book on your shelf if you have any exposure to pipelines or tank farms.

Review of Pipeline Rules of Thumb Handbook
This is a great reference and will be a great help in my new job as a pipeline designer/engineer. It was in great condition when it arrived.

Fantastic tool
I have reviewed this book, which I should have bought years earlier.
All subjects are easy to find and very clearly explained.
One needs just basic technical education to work with this book and do not have to be a pipeline construction engineer.
Also your prices are very competative for us in Europe.
I will certainly come back to you.

This book has it all...
For someone who wants to know everything about putting in a land pipeline.....This book has it all.....I was recommended this book from a coworker and have been very pleased with the information that this book contained......

Disappointment
Dear sir: after 5 days (more than the date that was expected) I didn't receive my book. It would be have been arrived on Febr 17.
I ask you an explanation about my problem. Meanwhile, I'm very disappointment.
Thanks.
