A little treasure The "Mitford Bedside Companion" is a wonderful collection of many of the favorite moments that fans of Jan Karon's Mitford series cherish most. This is a perfect book to pack for that plane ride or hotel room, when you don't have time to get into an entire novel. It's also great to keep by a comfortable chair (or bed, as the name implies) and it might just end up in your kitchen, as well, as you try one of the tasty recipes (including the luscious Orange Marmalade Cake that sent Father Tim into a diabetic coma). One of the most delightful features is the "Cast of Characters" in which Ms. Karon has kindly listed every person who has appeared in her Mitford novels; it's a great help for first-time readers, as well as old friends of the series who are enjoying them again after a time away from the beloved small mountain town. | ||

A great gift Unfortunately I didn't read this one myself, but I'm recommending it HIGHLY as a gift for those special, inspirational people in your lives. I sent it to my over 80 Dad for Christmas, and almost every time we talk on the phone, he reminds me that he loved this book (I think hoping that I will find another like it!) | ||
Very nice series I have read the whole Mitford series and thoroughly enjoyed every one. I was wishing they could go on and on for many more adventures with Fr. Tim and Cynthia,Dooley, and Lacey. I have not read this one yet but I am assuming I will also enjoy as much. Jan Karon is a very good, and interesting author. | ||
