Product Description
The most intelligent book ever written for the course, reinvented for today's students. The Eighth Edition has been reorganized and streamlined to mirror the organization of today's courses, updated to include extensive coverage of the latest discoveries and research, and reimagined with new pedagogy, figures, and technology.

James Gross, co-author of the text and Director of the Psychology One Teaching Program at Stanford University, believes in an integrated approach that looks at multiple perspectives to understand the larger complexities of the field. In the Eighth Edition, the authors present psychology as a central discipline that connects to the humanities as well as the exciting advances in neuroscience. .

Reviews

Great!
Although it was listed as "used", the book was untouched. Thanks. Saved a lot of money buying through Amazon.

Too Basic
Factually, this book gives a solid introduction to Psychology. As a textbook, however, there is considerable room for improvement. The chapter summaries at the end of the chapter are basic and short-- it provides a quick summary, but no review questions, practice quizzes, or suggestions for further explanation in different areas of Psychology. Compared to other textbooks I have used that are very similar to this one, this was by far the worst. The companion workbook that goes along with this book is also unimpressive when compared to workbooks for similar textbooks.

Psych 101
I bought this book because it was a required text for my intro Psychology class. The book is readable, clear and informative.

Psychology 10th Edition
The book gives a college introduction to psychology. It is sophisticated but, drags along at times before getting to a point. The chapter placements are not very continuous and topics can better arranged. The examples used to explain concepts are sometimes long and unneeded. So explanations of topics are also unclear such as the "garden path effect" and can confound readers at times.

Awesome textbook!
This book is great. I expected, yet another textbook that is dull and difficult to read and understand; this textbook, however, is filled with humorous interjections, along with complex information presented in a simple way.
