Product Description This kit enables users to build virtually all simple molecules encountered in organic chemistry. Includes space-filling models that simulate the true shape of saturated compounds. Provides open models that form realistic single, double, and triple bonds — even strained rings. Allows smooth rotation of the bonds to make conformational analysis easy. Contains enough components to create several models at once. The components are precision-tooled from quality plastics, are virtually indestructible, and come in a sturdy plastic case for easy storage. Provides a useful Instruction Book — with photos, diagrams, and concise discussions of chemical principles.

ONLY BUY THIS IF YOU ARE A BODYBUILDER! This molecular model was horrible!! I absolutely hated it, it was very difficult to remove and plug in the pieces back and forth. I purchased this for my organic chemistry class to make molecular models for complex molecules like cyclohexane, cycloheptane etc. And it was so hard to assemble these structures because you would have to put in a significant amount of force and strength to fit these colored atoms into the sticks (bonds). And it gets extremely annoying to keep doing it over and over again while doing your homework. Normally, I like to visualize these structures in my imagination but for complex molecules like cycloheptane with four of five different substituents attached to it, you definitely need to have a molecular model to get a clear 3-d representation of that molecule. And thats why I purchased it. Although this one helps, I don't recommend it at all. Try looking for other models where it is easier to assemble these structures.
Chemistry Model Set This model set works well for Organic Chemistry (I). You can use it to see the molecules in 3-D, rather than trying to imagine them. You can make cyclohexane in chair formation, see the configuration of the substituents, do a ring flip, etc. You can also use this to see how chirality works. I would also recommend this set for General Chemistry students. Each atom is a different color and has a certain number of holes (i.e. oxygen only has 2 holes because it can only form two bonds and still have a neutral charge). Each atom has the holes at certain angles so you can see how carbon makes a tetrahedral 3-D shape.
chemistry model set it comes with a decent amount of atoms. they are pretty small so it can be hard to create certain cyclic models and study them.
seems to be one of the best sets out there The set is sturdy and will not break easily. Very useful for cyclohexane, "chair", "boat" conformations. However, I am not sure if it will help me pass the course.
Title This is a very nice set for Organic Chemistry. It would have been nicer if there were more Nitrogens and Carbons, but there are enough to make most things. It does take some work to put together and take apart the first few times, but after a while it gets easier.
