Product Description Here is a much-needed professional book that will instruct readers in the many new methodologies now at their disposal to make the best use of longitudinal data. This book explains how to select an appropriate method given a research question, including how to use both individual growth modeling and survival analysis. Throughout the chapters, the authors employ many cases and examples from a variety of disciplines, covering multilevel models, curvilinear and discontinuous change, in addition to discrete-time hazard models, continuous-time event occurrence, and Cox regression models. Using Longitudinal Data is a unique contribution to the literature on research methods and will be useful to a wide range of behavioral and social science researchers.

Good Book I like this book, specially because it gives good explanations for people that are not very familiar with mathematical statistics. Sometimes formula derivations are needed and the book just skips them, because the author says they are far from the book's scope
Very thorough This book is very complex, which may scare some people off. However, the information is incredible and very in-depth. I think the strength of this book lies in its concrete examples of different sets of longitudinal data. The authors slowly take you through each step and you eventually come to anticipate which step they are going to take next. The in-depth discussion of the multilevel model of longitudinal data is a necessity for anyone who wants to fully grasp the nature of their data. For anyone interested in conducting longitudinal data, this book is worthwhile.
Good reference to have Brought it for a multi-level modeling course. Great reference to have. Everyone uses it and it's a must for any grad student.
Applied Long. Data Analysis Excellent book in general. Makes a complicated subject easy to understand. Great examples and the website helps with programming for SAS.
One of the Best Plain English Explanations of Multi-Level Modeling and Hazard Modeling Singer and Willett have a knack for getting to the crux of this topic without the reader needing to have a degree in mathemtatics. This was an introductory text for me, but serves me well in working on my dissertation modeling as well - it can be read at many levels. Check out Singer's website for awesome companion datasets, software, and summary powerpoints on key chapters. No, I am not related to her, just a huge fan!
