great purchase textbook was in brand new condition, fast shipping, and a great deal. very satisfied with purchase
Sociology I only had to buy this book for my sociology course. But if I had to buy for myself, I don't think that I would. Although it's a good book, I found the texts in there were a little bit overwhelmed and confusing.
the absolutely perfect text for an intro to soc class I used this text for an intro to sociology class at a major university. I love that it is different from the run-of-the-mill intro textbook; instead of 20+ chapters of terms, definitions, etc., this book contains whole or excerpted readings, many of which are classic sociological articles (for example, On Being Sane in Insane Places and The McDonaldization of America). With very few exceptions, this book contains the readings I would choose to assign for an intro class if I weren't using a textbook.
