Reviews

Discrete Mathematics
This is a very good product. The print is good quality and easy to read. The Amazon.com agent that provided the e-copy was very quick to respond to the order, taking only minutes to download. The only qualm I have with the electronic download version is that some of the pages are a bit off-centered. Not much mind you, but in some (only a few)instances on the problems it makes it a bit more challenging to do a copy and paste for homework purposes.

A Lifesaver...
This book is pretty thorough in its' descriptions. The examples after each section are very useful as well, and they are greatly assisted if you buy the solutions manual as well (I don't know if that's available up here - it probably is...this IS Amazon, after all! I purchased that manual from my school). All in all, because of the professor's lack of great explanations...this book, with the help of Google and prayer...was probably the reason I passed the class with a B haha! :) Worth every penny...

Thanks Bunches!
I recieved it very quickly and it was in great shape! Thanks so much!!! : ]

One of the worst textbooks I've ever had
You can learn from this text, but only if you have 40 hours a week to spend researching what the text is really trying to say. The explanations are few and very poorly written. Most of the important information is only given in even numbered problems at the end of the section and chapter. There is no explanation in the text on how to solve these problems and these problems have no solutions in the back of the text or in the solutions manual. If you can decipher what the text is trying to tell you, it is only half complete and written in the most obtuse manner I've ever seen. Entertaining as a joke book, this text has no place in the classroom.

Difficult to understand for a beginner
I'm using this textbook for an online Discrete Math class, and am finding it to be the most difficult thing in the world for me to read and clearly understand. My challenges are only complicated by the fact that its an online class, thus no lecture available to grasp the concepts from the instructor. There have to be textbooks on Discrete Math that are easier to read and understand than this one. Any suggestions?
