Not a dry academic tome. If you like economic and social history, and aren't put off by the price, this book is a gem. The author compares England and Japan and discusses why they didn't fall into a Malthusian boom and crash cycle. After reading the book, I wasn't quite sure he answered that question but I didn't care. The book is a fascinating, insightful look at these two very different cultures and is very worthwile for that reason. | ||
