a classic on the subject Although out for a good while (since 1993) for books on building technology, this is still a good buy. Most of the information on applyiing good fire safety practice to building design remains applicable, although codes have changed somewhat since this edition was released. When the publisher releases a new edition, I predict that this book will continue to be as useful as it was when fresh out in late 1993. That the book continues to sell is a testament to its usefulness. It is simply a classic on a subject that few architects have investigated in depth.
direct and useful This book provides a very direct and basic understanding of the phenomenon of building fires. Enables the integration and application of fire safety principles from early design concepts to finished project. Very few, if any, single volumes on this subject are as comprehensive and applicatble as this work. An excellent value. Will become a permanant asset in the building designer's shelf of references.
