Mother/Teacher I gave this a three star rating because there are some ideas in it that are helpful. The reason I didn't give it a four or five star rating is because the content of this book does not mesh with my philosophy of teaching, the foundation of which is based on student empowerment. In this book, it recommends that a teacher not ask their students how their weekend was because it is a rhetorical question. It says, "Unless you really want responses, we caution you against greeting students with a rhetorical question such as 'How was your weekend?'" My question is, why wouldn't you want to know how your students are doing? There are several other examples like this in the book. I think I am being generous with three stars. | ||
