Another Timoshenko Production Timoshenko = Mechanics God. This book is the backbone for plate and shell analysis.
Theory of Plates and Shells review I thought it is good to have this from a historical as well as information point of view. It is good reference material.
Simply, a classic!!! This is the ultimate tool when researching or designing structures. It is impossible to be considered an engineer if you haven't at least heard ofTimoshenko and his great opus of books, and this book is maybe his best and most extensive "high tech" work. It does not matter that it is some 60 years since the 1st edition was published, you will probably not find a better and more comprehensive title on plates and shells. Simply said, this it the engineering classic - a MUST HAVE!!!
Sacred Scripture for aircraft structural engineers Theory of Plates and Shells is divine revelation for serious engineering geeks who design and analyze structures for cutting edge technology, such as aircraft and space systems. Composite buckling and crippling analysis comes alive when explained in the light of Steve Timoshenko's mathematics. Without this text, analysts are clueless about the mystical behavior of buckling plates. If aircraft design does not excite you, then use it as a non-addictive sleeping pill.
